Asteroids for breakfast

At the foot of “La Tourelle”, a mountain in Mauritius Island, lies a big water reservoir that cannot go unnoticed by the hikers as they enter the path that will immerse them in the nature.

The surface of this cylindrical structure is strewn with black stones that create a huge visual impact compared to the greenery surrounding it.

For a while we thought about hacking that space in order to give it a new meaning and value.

The result consist in the creation of an interactive and modular composition of colored stones which where already present in the area.

52 stones with different shapes and sizes where collected and colored with different gradients in order to be placed on the top of of the reservoir and create a dynamic composition.

Once placed, the stones belong again to the same space and suggest to people new possibilities to interact with them.
